Robert Finvarb is hoping for a brutal winter up north to drive traffic to his South Florida hotels, as that would continue the solid growth for tourism this year.
Finvarb, the CEO of Robert Finvarb Cos., joined the “Business Breakdown with Brian Bandell” podcast to discuss how the tourism market has performed this year and what he expects in the busy winter season. The Miami Beach native has developed more than 25 hotels across the nation. His portfolio currently includes the Hyatt Centric South Beach, the Courtyard Miami Coconut Grove, the AC and Element Hotel in Brickell and the recently renovated Residence Inn Sunny Isles Beach.
Finvarb is also developing NoBe Parc, a North Beach condo that focused on short-term rentals.
Among the questions Finvarb answers on the podcast:
How did you end up starting your own business venture other than your father and your brother, who have their own hospitality real estate venture?
How has the tourism market been so far this year? Did you get a nice boost from the World Cup?
What are your expectations for tourism heading into this busy winter season?
What are the biggest challenges for hotel operators?
Why did you decide to build the NoBe Parc condo and why short-term rentals?
What lessons did you learn while owning a marina company?
